I think it's because the decline is too big from her previous eras, it's just too shocking for some people to take it in. Like even some of the non deluded monsters conservative predictions were higher than 100K.
Is it really shocking? The current trend is "tropical wave"/watered down dancehall and Gags just released a pop song with rock influences, she's also screaming on the song which isn't something that the average person would love to have on repeat.
She also didn't hype this like Applause or made a big deal out of it so
