What I don't understand is why do monsters drag Rihanna, Katy, Britney and more for making catchy hits but want Gaga to do the same. After the VMAs it was 'well Gaga is above this' but now it's 'she needs to promote it!!!'

Listening to the instrumental... I actually really, really love what the producers have done with this song. But I cannot stand her vocal delivery, nor with how slap dash these lyrics are... or rather how they feel. There was potential here for a legitimately amazing pop/rock/disco anthem but Perfect Illusion is just unpleasant... it feels loud, obnoxious and lazy.
I was really rooting for Appluase commercially because I loved the song. If Perfect Illusion tanks then... I can't say I'll be all that bummed out... pity because the single roll out thus far has been so well executed (thanks Bobby)... I just wish I loved the song.
Still, 48 plays and counting... I'm still trying to force myself to like it.
