Spotify's deals with the labels are about to expire and they to negotiate new deals. If the Big Three labels are offended by Spotify's attempts to blackmail. The labels can just double the price and see whether Spotify is willing to sign for something that would never make a profit. Or suddenly 99% of the songs are gone and Spotify looks like this:

An ATRL user exposed Spotify's payola in the charts section. Rise didn't get any since it wasn't in any of the big playlists, whereas Perfect Illusion is currently #10 on the payola chart (because it's in lots of playlists, and it's the first song on most of them).

Note, I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing. That's what labels are for. It's the way the industry works. Katy needs to be on those major Spotify playlists, preferably as close to the top as possible, in order to get maximum streaming revenue and chart points.

If the lead single is a smash she should release it in October and then second single right after the December freeze and the alberm before the Grammys. But her useless team will obviously ruin everything so some kind of rush-release is to be expected.
