It's kinda crazy that Gaga is playing in the same field as people like Shawn Mendez and Charlie Puth Like this song is going to go up against their teeny bopper songs and will probably lose, yet this song is so different, so authentic, so raw and unabashed, so musical and so layered in so many ways. It's like 2 different worlds yet this is the **** that Gaga and we as Gaga fans have to put up with
Kevin came in with this pretty-formed demo that everybody loved. And Mark is so good at recording and arranging and writing on every instrument, and Kevin's great at instruments. I'm terrible at instruments. I'm not what you would call a trained musician. Kevin also worked on the [music-production hardware] Ableton so he was like a bridge between Mark and I. It was a really good mix of analog and digital talents and the combined songwriting talents of everybody.
If only Gaga hadn't gotten her talentless hands on that demo, Kevin could have given it to someone else and the song would have probably been great
