It's a decent bop but not lead single standard at all.

I thought the "it wasn't love, it was a perfect illusion" hook was a pre-chorus before the slayage, but it never came. It's just ok.

I researched the Applause thread a little bit and I think it did a little bit over 2 million the first day because there was a single post saying it's doing great and it had 2 million views in under 24hrs.

I think she said before Chrismas to give herself time. The label will obviously force her to release before Chrismas because that's the time she needs to release it. However, she also said they're still working on it. Ideally, she should release any of the previous 3 weeks before thanksgiving but...
