Perfect Illusion has that ethereal quality that makes a song become a classic.
The music evokes the emotional response that only a few select songs have. It's the kind of song you imagine yourself turning up to max while racing down a highway with your top down, your hair flying in the air and feeling free.
It's a song that can't be constrained by time. Perfect Illusion could have been a hit in the 80s, 90s, today and in 30 years. It doesn't bother borrowing from current trends in order to give a short sugar rush to the listener. Instead, it evokes true emotion and aims to be a legacy smash.
It's incredible. I'm so glad we still have artists brave enough to do their own thing in 2016.
Couldn't have said it better myself. EDUCATE THEM.
Yeah, I really don't like her vocals. I know they're supposed to sound "unpolished" to sound more raw but it really isn't pleasant on the ears. Also there's buildup but no climax.
But I'm glad she's doing something she seems to be enjoying.
From all the pre-release tea, these are the songs you expected Perfect Illusion to sound like
If you are talking about chart performance, it's way to early to troll
No, I just wanted a classy power ballad with that oomph. That was the image she seemed to be going for (with the classy looks/showing off her vocals) and I think it really could've been a good direction for her to go. The acclaim would've been endless
Of course it is a decent song, but i think we ALL know that she could do way better.
I mean just look at her discography, she has way too many amazing songs (Alejandro/Bad Romance/Poker Face/ Love Games and more) and this aint one.
