Maybe because Katy started out more alternative and her biggest hits are all produced by Max Martin or Dr Luke, it feels less authentic.. Katy is a good writer but Carly’s songs have stronger lyrics and structure and all around solid quality.. all of TD was made for the charts, half of Prism was.. she still has given us amazing songs like Ghost, Love Me, Walking On Air and many more pop songs that dont feel as watered down by factory hit producers

Carly probably really benefits from her humility—putting out great music and then just letting it speak for itself—whereas Katy is always trying to convince us that her songs mean more than they actually do. If she just embraced that she is a shallow pop diva, it wouldn't be so easy to make fun of her through the lens of hubris.

Katy is by far more humble than her peers The bolded part is simply not true.

Anyway, Carly is a better writer and her productions are definitely better than Katy's if we're being honest.
