Okay I did some research and the ICC mini stays unbothered as their best

Let me listen to the album. The cover is UGLY though. Why are they not on it.

RR the song is great but the mini is a bit of a flat line. Lucky Girl and Bad Dracula are kind of good, but most of the tracks suffer from the same problem The Red had.

They're either bland altogether (Fool, My Dear) or poorly constructed, which is Lucky Girl, Bad Dracula, Sunny Afternoon, and Some Love's problem. They're better than the worst tracks on The Red but they feel like someone just slapped a combination of notes together. Especially Some Love, which is fine until the verses end and you realize you've been lied to because they disguised awkward silence and a random background sample as a chorus.

Parts like that, the random sinister bells + non-hook in Lucky Girl, that weird rising riff in Bad Dracula, and the overall prevalence of homogeneous, early-SNSD-esque choruses that don't really belong + weird ineffectual chord progressions (or lack thereof) drag the songs down. I hope SM doesn't stick with this sound for RV b-sides for long because compared to their title tracks and songs like SKC and Oh Boy, which have working hooks and actually flow, it really doesn't measure up.

But also RR the song is like great so I shouldn't really complain.

first of all, King of RAP Bobby slayed & snatched
his flow was effortless & the video was so, lit but also really exciting. and his ****ing BODY, i want to lick his abs & just, he's such a man

& Queens Red Goddesses literally released the BEST video of the year & one of the best songs of all time (a future pop classic). the song is such radio pop candy meets ice cream cake with hints of Dumb Dumb meets 70's meets 80's meets Carly Rae Jepsen and it's ****ing everything

them all trying to kill each other gave me so much life. like, i KNOW that video was the best therapy they ever had. like, imagining Yeri pissing off Wendy then being able to throw her intoan empty pool, i CANT the concept was just so perfectly executed & gave the song even more life than it already has.
THIS is why Red Velvet have so many fans & stans, this is why they are one of my favorite groups/artists EVER, this is why their one of the best at the game. they serve nostalgia, retro-ness, originality, & just pop gems but even more. i love them so ****ing much & im so proud of them for always out-doing the next era and coming back harder, and better than ever. at first i wasnt sure if this was their best single (in their holy trinity for sure), but right now, this is the total best for ****ing sure (and thats hard to say since every single besides OOTN have been )
i just cant wait for the live performances, those white shirts & booty shorts combo was everything
& also, every single girl looked PERFECTION.

Joy snatched with that blonde & yellow ombre.
Wendy served her visual peak her with that 70's hair during the pool scene & also gave me Luna realness
Irene just being Irene which is a compliment in itself
Seulgi slaying that orange hair & taking names
& Yeri being the better version of Ariel from Little Mermaid and slaying too hard.
a ****ing 111/10. two AMAZING comeback & debut and im just, lawd

about to get into the album right now, im so excited for what awaits because 'The Red' is truly one of the best pop albums of all time and im just, my heart cant take more pop perfection

Russian Roulette ticks all my boxes of what I look for in a Pop song. I hate all of their Red title tracks so this is a pleasant surprise.

ICC > The Red > RR > The Velvet

RR the track is a slay but the rest of the mini kinda lacks. It'll probably grow on me a bit but I don't see it passing ICC at all.
