I am honestly against an Apple Music exclusive if it costs Spotify's support.

They will very likely silent-release the single with zero promotion or playlist placements, which would put a big restriction on the song in terms of streaming. If this is going to be Gaga's "comeback" single, she should be making it as available as possible.

If it means being apart of the upcoming iPhone 7/Apple Music campaign then I'm for it. Exclusives do not have to be bad things - Gaga has always had Apple's support and they'll likely go all out for PI. Not to mention, an exclusive could only be for part of the week or the first week, etc. Not to mention the fact that we shouldn't be hoping for a high first week peak - the songs should be a hit to where it's fully embraced on radio, iTunes, and streaming by the GP long into its chart run.

Well, Taylor got her #1s in 1989 era without Spotify.

I only use Spotify though so I'll be sad if it'll be an Apple Exclusive for many weeks.

Prolly because they knew that's the only way they could get radio stations to play it

I honestly wouldn't be against her fully shunning Spotify this entire era. Especially now that Troy is at the helm. Taylor and Adele have proved you don't need Spotify to get hits

Her sales aren't massive anymore, but they're well enough that she's not some ridiculous flop. If the future is actually streaming, then she needs to build up her streams and build interest in her streaming revenue.

Exactly, which is why she can't not have it on Spotify from the get go if she wants to be successful streaming wise. It would be foolish as hell to ignore Spotify. There is too much hinging on this single not to have it available as widely as possible and Spotify is obviously the king of streaming. It would get this era off on a very bad foot if the first single isn't on Spotify, it would kill a lot of potential momentum, not just for the era, but for her streaming prowess in general, which is so integral nowadays.

Ok whatever but hows about casual fans and dedicated fans like myself- do not buy music but consime it via stteaming (Spotify) only and has been a member for 2 years now. I didnt jump ship to Tidal fot Beyoncé so I sure as hell will not for Lady Gaga. I'm sure others would agree.

Spotify is the biggest streaming service and she could also be missing out on quite a few casual fans listening.
