People tend to tell on themselves when they are focused more on negativity and shading than their faves "exceptional" music.

Notice Adele and Taylor and Bruno stans are rarely making threads or in SYG

because their faves are going 2x platinum and above AND with huge songs AND with great touring and their stans truly believe their faves music, visuals and performances are great...

They don't need to dabble in negativity.

I'm okay with them stringing out Make Me until October. Just Luv Me should go for adds in late October and they should do an AMA's performance of it and the video sometime around there.

After watching the performance again and sleeping on it I'm not so let down anymore. She did great for the VMAs, I think in the moment I forgot about how nerve-wracking it must've been to perform there after 2007. I don't blame her for using G-Eazy as her shield though, it's just kind of sad.

He seems very sweet to her about it, though.

Slw, I couldn't agree with you more. I could care less about Lemonade or Rise or whatever it might be, but I feel no reason to sit here and bash them or try my hardest to take them down a peg, because there's no point. Glory is a great album, Make Me is a great single, Brit is hot a f***, and it's nice to see her doing stuff and being talked about. All the other artists can go do their things because I'm just enjoying that Britney is doing hers.

That's the difference apparently. My praise and excitement aren't hallow. I don't have to try and convince myself and others everything else is so bad to make the stuff I do like seem better. No, I'm sitting here rocking out to the Make Me VMA remix because I can't get it out of my head. The best part is, it seems the haters can't get Brit out of their heads either.

I don’t think people realise how important this performance is. There was a reason this performance was so stripped back (well for a Britney VMA performance anyway). This is Britney saying “I don’t need gimmicks to entertain, no snake, no kiss, just me.” She proved you can get through dark times and come out fighting and she just proved to the entire world why she is still relevant in the pop industry after 18 years and why she is a pop ICON.

I'm seriously upset at how MTV had her perform right after Beyonce tho like seriously? It seemed like sabotage. First 2011 and now this? MTV has played Britney one too many times in her career and she should pay them dust from now on tbh. Let them continue to kiss Beyonce's ass. Even Rihanna was overshadowed on her night. I love Bey and love her performances but 15 minutes was a little much for an award show that wasn't even supposed to be centered around her. Sorry Army for ranting , Britney was great but the whole situation just doesn't sit well with me

Award shows are a game.

Do you honestly think this didn't happen in 2011 as well?

the tea was already spilled about MTV giving Beyonce what she wanted.

She knew that Rihanna would perform multiple times but MTv knew what they were doing in 2011 and they knew in 2016.

Britney pre 2003 would have never been put in that situation but then again that was a different MTV crew

MTV as a whole has gone down the drain and you have more people in their with their own agendas.

It's done to highlight certain people with their extended speeches, performances etc that wouldn't get the same attention if they had the same treatment as any regular big star.

Britney got her vanguard, she got a performance that was better than leaving on 2007's

Britney probably won't perform at the VMAs anymore in the same way Madonna won't etc.

Many people were calling out MTV (industry people) for those shady ways.

Don't think that wasn't an agreement in place to make that happen.

Don't be bothered. The performances of 2016 VMAs were not iconic and will be forgotten next week.

Britney's legacy continues. her single got great exposure and finally a performance promo and others just have to do extra to get their attention

Just be grateful, Britney just doesn't need to do all of that...she just does her thing.

that performance deserved it.

You all have to realize that the industry has changed but also the VMAs/MTV has changed.

It's lost it's essence since 2005/6.

Anyways, so long as Make Me's discount lives on and if it keeps reaching new peaks on Spotify throughout the week (#33 in the US currently), I think radio might catch up because they have yet to completely drop it.

Definitely sharing the tin foil on this one.

The producers had to have known exactly what they were doing, and I'm salty over the fact that they seemingly did Britney dirty once again. Like how could you possibly have Britney's performance lined up directly after Beyonces, knowing full well the kind of reaction that 15 minute show stopping number would garner. No one could've followed suit, not even Britney.


But alas it is what it is. Both performances served their parts, as Make Me seems to be doing well on iTunes, and Beyonce's tour will likely remain sold out. Not gonna lie, I have a LOT of respect for Beyoncé as a performance artist nowadays, and last night further enforced that respect. If I could afford good tickets, I'd totally see The Formation tour.

But I'm starting to digress.

Back OT, MTV can rot, I've been tired of their **** since 07.
