My Glorious Experience: Glory Album Review
(sorry for the wrong grammar, English is not my favorite language)
When our favorite, yet underrated pop star, Britney Spears, described her 9th Studio Album “Artsy Fartsy”, many fans had raised their eyebrows and gave that what-the-**** look.
The record was supposed to be released in February based on rumors but then got pushed back not just once but a few times. Fans were getting impatient, until 6 days prior to its official release, the new album “Glory” leaked. WHAAAAAAAAAAT?
The leak made the whole Britney Army panic, the army hyperventilated, many died, too many wigs and weaves were snatched. Souls were taken. Haters were afraid and hid and majority of us are still recovering from what happened. The whole world was GLORIFIED! Listening to the album is a glorious experience, and we have been waiting for so long for the Pop Princess to release “THAT” album, the album that will truly define her real comeback as an artist and as a performer. GLORY IS NOW AVAILABLE!!!
Britney is serving vocals and attitude on the new record. Glory is two notch up from her previous installment – Britney Jean (as if that album is that hard to top… BJ did not happen, really, lol. Jk.)
Majority of the fans call this a mash of Britney’s 4th album, “In the Zone” and 5th Album, “Blackout” in terms of production, attitude, involvement and vocals, but to me, it is nowhere between the two. This is not In The Zone 2.0, this is not Blackout 2.0, this is GLORY 1.0. The album is not like what is out right now and I believe that this is going to be the best Pop Album of 2016. This is not coming from a Britney fan but a pop music fan in general. Like seriously, this album is ****ing amazing.
The list below ranks my favorite tracks just based on 1st Listen and may or may not change after I overplay and rape the repeat button on Spotify and iTunes.
1. Man On the Moon – Very Artsy Fartsy, I wonder what was Britney thinking when she Co-wrote this space-y themed song (10/10)
2. Slumber Party – when I First read this on the tracklist, I was like, “ok she’s releasing another after-party-dance track”, but then when I heard this, I was blown away with its reggae drops and beats. (9/10)
3. Liar – It’s a throwback track (the feeling that is…), it’s like the long lost sister of “Stronger” and “Lonely” from Brit’s 2nd and 3rd album, respectively. Beware cheaters; this is going to be your anthem. (10/10)
4. Just Luv Me – The song is screaming to be a single. Some people compare this to some recent Selena Gomez track but people doesn’t realize that Britney did it first on her 4th album “In The Zone”, hello… listen to “Breathe on Me” and “Touch of My Hand”, if you don’t know what I mean. (8/10)
5. Make Me – The first single. Very different, sexy, sultry and chill. G-Eazy’s rap verse is also top notch and brought this to a new higher level. (8/10)
6. If I’m Dancing – This is not a Britney album if there is no twerk track and this is the perfect one. (8.5/10)
7. Love Me Down – La la la la love me down. A bop and a half. Nuffsaid (9/10)
8. Do You Wanna Come Over? – I do. Haha. (7.5/10)
Overall, the album is better than the last 3 albums release by Britbrit. Britney is not playing this time. She’s on her A Game. I am not disappointed. This is a REALLLLLL Britney Album. I am slayed. I am scalped. I died and came back from the dead and still getting that chills and goosebumps all over every time I listen to the album.
