Marc Jacobs fashion show is happening between September 8th - 15th. Apple's thingy is on the 7th of September. I wouldn't be surprised if she releases it on September 9th.
The NY Fashion week starts September 8 and finishes September 15.
It would be nice if she debuted the song during Marc Jacob's fashion show, like numerous insiders claim, especially if it's a little mixed/edited.
This way, we could get a taste of it and it will definitely create some buzz in the pop world a few days prior to its release (in case the song is coming on the 16th of September which is most likely).
All the fashion press would write about this the second day after the debut and it will create a nice build up leading to the release of the song, a few days later, while still not spoiling the surprise of a full high quality song.
Those insiders' info is so damn funny to me like, you can guess she's going to do that since she's done it in the past + the Marc tweet.
Ugh September 9th makes so much more sense though. Why release it on the 16th when you have AHS buzz on the 14th and 15th? Everyone will be googling her on the premiere which is the 14th, and it doesn't make sense to release the single two days after that. All the buzz will be going around on the 15th and the GP can see all the articles talking about PI and then they would buy it. It's a great way to get last minute first week sales in. She'd also still have a tiny bit of hype left for the following week too. She has to put out the single before AHS. End of story.
September 14th - AHS 6 premiere
September 15th - Single debuts at Marc Jacobs runway show
September 16h - Single available at midnight

It's the most likely thing to happen. It would be amazing if they used Perfect Illusion as a background song for AHS (either episode 1 or any of the episodes, promo in Halloween would be very nice)
Honestly in her case I don't care that much for the VMAs, obviously I would like to see her there with an epic performance (and if it will happen I will be the first to scream) but at the same time the hype is so high that she doesn't need the VMAs necessarily. Plus the VMAs lately have became trashy with staged controversials like last year with Nicki-Miley, God knows what they have in mind this year, so probably it's the best thing for Gaga to start the era standing by herself without being part of this thing.

I feel like Gaga is too much of a respectable artist to attend the vmas. They're so cringy and full of try-hard controversies. She's seems above all of that now...Same with artists like Beyoncé and Adele.
I also don't mind that she's skipping the vmas..beyonce seems like she'll overshadow everyone.
But if she did go and perform id still be here for it of course.
