I realized Stupid Girls was lame with a gross message by the time I was 12. It's not very deep, at all. Fake empowerment that's really just judgement. I wish people would empower women to not live for men and to make their own choices without shaming them or saying there's one correct way to be strong and independent. Also, the scene where she makes fun of bulimia is just ridic. EDs are serious and life-threatening, make fun of the LA culture that encourages it rather than the women suffering from an illness
The problem is that once again, women (or at least certain types of women) are made the enemy rather than the capitalist entities that make us think we need to be perfect, beautiful, and appealing to all men in order to be happy and successful
