For most of this year, the #1 has been doing over 100K. July and August are the quietest times of the year for the industry, so we've had some 70/80/90k #1s, but overall album consumption is increasing per Nielsen.
Right, the #1. But what about the albums under it?...
Streaming having a big enough effect in the overall picture is greatly exaggerated, at least right now it is.

Well, its effect has been significant enough that album consumption has increased this year. But it's definitely not mature yet, and it'll take years for a lot of demographics to fully embrace streaming.

Once a lot of demographics fully embrace streaming, sales will be dead. So I doubt SPS will ever be the level of say... 2005 sales.
So you're saying that anyone who is streamed a lot is talented, and sales receipts don't matter at all since they don't correlate with talent? Interesting.
Tory Lanez was straight begging people to buy his album.
Tragic tbh, but at least he got #1.
On the sales chart. Drake and Suicide Squad should take the top 2 spots in general.
I'm kinda amused because many people caught on that Tory added TWELVE skits to his album on streaming platforms to boost the SPS and it may not even help much.
Why can't anyone but Adele, Beyoncé, and Drake sell albums anymore? I guess the people are only willing to pay for something that they know will be of quality.
Why people never mention Taylor She sells more than Drake and Beyonce together
