Imo Applause had the perfect run. It did an average (For Gaga's standards) debut at #6 but instead of falling ,it stayed in the top 10 for 3 months and re-peaked at #4

Because it was promoted and got commercials in the US.

Whereas in Europe it was more frontloaded than Born This Way.

People should care a bit though, otherwise why would the labels chase her and push her to do more music and material?

BTW it was stressful. We were all stressed about her not collecting #1 hits left and right cause we thought the era would smash hard. Marry the Night flopping. The album not selling 10m+ when we thought it would be easy for her

Then ARTPOP happened. That made BTW era a huge blockbuster smash era
