Rihanna is still absolutely first choice for so many producers and songwriters. She's had six hits in the last 1.5 years, better than anyone else bar Justin Bieber. Her album still sold the equivalent of 2.2m copies (Samsung paid for those 1m copies). She's a streaming monster. If you get a Rihanna lead single it's still life changing and its one of the biggest coups a songwriter/producer can have in the industry. It changed Tricky Stewart's life, it changed StarGate's lives, it changed Calvin Harris's life, it changed Sia's life, it's chaning PartyNextDoor's life.
Views ended up at No. 2, climbing from No. 3 despite its sales falling for the 15th time in the 16 weeks that have elapsed since it debuted atop the chart in May, and reaching its own personal nadir of 7,000 sales, a figure that was massively inflated by its allocation of 5,000 streaming sales.
It's really interesting that the only thing vaguely remembered from Katy Perry's 10 year long history of performing remains a drunken dancing shark.
That's sad, huh?
Not really. Gaga doesn't have a single memorable performance with the GP. The meat dress is not a performance. No one remembers VMA Paparazzi except stans.
I think this is the next single since they are sending it to US radio soon

I hope so, she only needs another good performance like that one @ Billboard awards and a simple video and it can smash like it was suppossed to (she should've released this after Work and promoted at Grammys)

I disagrih. Needed Me was perfect. The way it exceeded expectations is kinda crazy. I never thought we'd still be talking about it in August. The only mistake is that they didn't even try to release/push it WW.
Plus, LOTB is perfect for Fall/Winter. Why the hell would they release it in the springtime
"Love on the Brain" won't be a hit in the US, but it will be good for her image and appeal to release a 'classy' ballad and cater towards a difference audience. She's ticked all the boxes this era, urban smash, urban crossover smash, EDM smash, and now ballad.

needed me smashed on its own, it was another Pour It Up situation
LOTB was perfect for Grammy awards (though it was too early b/c of Work), it was still winter then, but it's ok she can smash now after VMAs
