And the tour was one of the few spaces trans people could let their hair down and be themselves (Bruce doesn't have that, his fans would probably beat them up, so it makes sense why he cancelled).

The hoopla around prop 8 in late 2008 was a big catalyst I think. It galvanized activism and forced a conversation to happen.

Yes, I care about gay rights more than black rights. I'm a white/asian homo, so it directly affects me the most.
