That certain stan in the other thread won't stop trying to make it about his/her fave
"It is very easy for her to be all giggly all the time, she has a super easy life."
Like wtf, really!? And his/her fave doesn't have an easy life too!? Am I supposed to believe she's some poor victim?
Glad daydreams put that crazy stan in place.

Adele’s recent announcement, onstage at one of her concerts, that she had been offered the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show but turned it down, is the ultimate pop-star power move. By saying that the show, the most visible stage in all of culture, was “not about music,” she differentiates herself from Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry—recent halftime headliners who used flash and spectacle to make their tunes sparkle for TV’s biggest audience. She also sets herself apart from Rihanna, Drake, Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Zayn Malik, and every other current megastar who was not asked, even though their splashiness is more Super Bowl-ready than Adele’s subtlety.
The announcement burnishes Adele’s status atop pop’s heap, and like all great attempts at mythmaking, it may fall short of precise truth. The NFL and halftime show sponsor Pepsi jointly claim that they’ve had conversations with many artists about the booking but made an offer to no one, which strikes me, based on my own past reporting, as exactly in line with the typical tradition. The Super Bowl halftime show is produced in close collaboration with both the league and the sponsor—making a firm offer to an artist with no interest in the gig, precluding any conversations about what the substance of the show might actually be or how that artist might work with the various interested parties involved, would be a very strange move. The Super Bowl is high-stakes enough to necessitate tight control; making an offer to an artist before actually discussing the show with her flies in the face of that.
The NFL and Pepsi’s statement makes a lot of sense, too, given that a booking will eventually be made. The nature of Adele’s superstardom is such that whomever gets the gig (Rihanna, the only member of a reported 2014 shortlist never to perform, seems as good a bet as any) will be seen as a second choice, a compromise the NFL had to make because true artists don’t. Adele may be playing a different game, musically, than many of her contemporaries, but it’s hard to believe she isn’t aware of this—that, the NFL’s attempt to defuse the situation aside, she’ll be a subject of discussion during an event where she isn’t even performing.

Am I the only one who thinks people are blowing the "not about the music" statement out of proportion. Watching the video, it never came across as her being boastful or trying to make a greater point or trying to belittle her contemporaries, but instead it was just her being self-deprecating, as a lot of her humor is. Her whole comment was an obvious joke about how she can't dance and isn't an entertainer like Beyoncé, followed by a sarcastic comment about making a dance album. Like, it's not that serious
Also, let's be real, as of recent, the SB halftime show isn't just about the music.

It was taken out of proportion by those fan bases that hate Adele. She was indeed right when she said the Halftime Show isn't just about music.

Current mainstream music is weak AF. The fact that catalog albums outsell the current ones proves it. People are still willing to buy an album if they feel like it's worth it. There's not much to listen to on pop radio stations for anyone who's over 30. When you look at it, the death spiral started around Britney Spears' breakthrough. Poor ATRL.

If Adele really turned down the SB because the music isn't uptempo enough, then why doesn't she just write and record a stadium friendly song and release it? Not everything she releases has to be apart of an album or a movie soundtrack. We live in a different era now with streaming.
I don't think it's such a bad thing if she releases a new song every now and then. Bieber does it with people like Major Lazer, etc. Drake releases random tracks all the time.
I know she's worried about quality control, overexposure, etc but still. Plus it won't make these waits in between albums so unbearable.

Getting just as much attention for turning it down as she would for accepting it.

She wants to give the songs she releases a proper long-term exposure. Streaming giants like Drake, JB and Rihanna release stuff so often that most of their songs just drown into that mass of audio. I'm almost sure that Adele will have #1 albums for the rest of her life.

I agree with anti-bitch. Besides, Adele has made it very clear that she wants to be an albums artist, not a singles artist. I would be fine if she did release material in between albums (if it had a purpose, because I think standalone singles can be cheesy unless they're for a film or event or something), but I don't see her anything like that.

It will be easy to spot Adele during her current pizza ban: just find the nearest-to-the-arena Chipotle
