In full honesty, Beyonce already played that role (the girl wanting to be famous and finds a guy to help her and she falls in love with him) in Cadillac Records and Dream Girls. So it makes sense why SHE rejected it.

But any other actress should have rejected it on the premise that no one buys into those types of Hollywood coming of age stories anymore. With social media today, we already know how 3/4 of these bitches come to fame. And that's by sucking dick.

So unless there's a scene like that in the movie...it's gonna read corny to this new generation. But I guess Gaga has been trying to appeal to the older population these past few years. So I wish her luck.
