I mean, if this isn't the kp4 lead single, why continue pushing this? Especially that its purpose has already been fulfilled and the Olympics is soon to end. They should just let this die.
she should discount after the Olympics (Aug 26th) or a week later if she performs @ the VMA's (Sept 2nd)
If they discount it the week of/after the VMAs performance and it still doesn't go Top 10.

Maybe because having this be a hit would help her out a lot going into the KP4 era than coming off an underperformance? It doesn't matter if it's a lead single, third single or buzz single, they've already put time and money into releasing it / filming a video for it, may as well try and give it a push until it's clearly done.
