Again I am completely aware of the utterly dreadful atrocities committed by the Japanese, but using the word genocide to describe what the Imperial Japanese did in Korea specifically is very controversial. I suppose what we're really arguing here is the definition of the word genocide - my understanding of the word is that it refers to the wholesale slaughter of civilians of an ethnic group or race. An example of a genocide committed by the Japanese is obviously the Nanking massacre. Its kinda just pointless semantics though so I'll shut up
