I admit I was surprised how small her record sales are compared to other 80s/90s legends.
she was a great success in the 90s.
I think Janet doesn't have many pop classics. She had a lot of pop hits but not many pop classics.
I mean even paula abdul has Rush rush and striaght up and cold hearted.
I think Janet's classics are: Nasty boys, Rhythm nation, That's the way love goes, all for you
it's just they are more r&b formed.
and for as many songs, that's not alot
Her music is great.
Janet taught female artists how to REINVENT their SOUND and not rely on stunts, gimmicks and shock value.
