This is weird. I mean, they are both concensual adults and it's not like they are a threat to the wider community, so I don't see why it should be illegal. I mean, they may have children but it's very unlikely for first generation inter-breeding to lead to any abnormalities with the child. It's second generation inter-breeding that is most likely to lead to genetic mutations and therefore abnormalities with the child. That's not to say it isn't possible the child will have abnormalities, but it's not as likely as people think. Either way, it's not worth the risk and I hope they're at least morally responsible enough to not have children.
I personally find this gross. However, they don't know each other at all. They never had the mother-son relationship. I remember reading some scientific paper a couple of years ago that suggested there is an intense connection between family members. It referenced a situation that featured a couple who later down the line found they were full brother and sister. They didn't know when they first met, but when they found it, they decided to end it. I wish I could find the exact paper, but I can't seem to.
Either way, it's still weird and I'll never fully understand it.
