It is sort of overwhelming, but not in a bad way at all!!! Uni is FUN! You'll love it! Everyone ends up finding someone who gets them... Some people find a couple of them (like I did because I'm kind of weird in the sense that I'm quiet when I meet people but ******* crazy when I spend time with someone)... some find a herd
Both are fine and both types have an amazing time!
Even if you only get very close to a few people, you get to meet so many random people so you tend to have a bazillion people around you nevertheless!
I've been kinda nervous about it, but I'll try to hold back on my expectations and just let it happen.
