I kind of liked BvS more and I think that is pure gagarbage.
DC desperately needs to hire good writers to really make a story. And you're right about tone. Ever since the Dark Knight they think every movie has to be dreary when that has never been DC comic''s thing. That may work for Batman, but that absolute does not work for Superman or any of the other characters.
