I'm curious what y'all do to avoid shrinkage. Do you wash and dry with ~extreme~ caution or shop one size bigger etc?
It can be so distressing to me. I obviously want to maintain a good form and fit. For a tall & slim person like me every inch/cm of the length counts.

I feel you, I'm also rather tall (6'4")

I personally just order a size up and make sure all my shirts are tall

I'm so disappointed with the quality of H&M clothing. I've bought a few things from there but Zara, which is at the same price point, is so much better

Though they compete in the same market space, H&M actually operates at lower price points than Zara. Obviously may not apply to single items, but generally speaking.

My closet is full, but I have a space where I can hang some clothing. Do you think it's okay to hang sweaters or will they stretch? I'm like super anal about my clothing, I don't want any damage to happen

Same problem... I used to think that clothes look and feel bigger on me in stores before I buy them, and smaller at home. I was SO confused until my grandma complained that my washing machine/dryer make her clothes shrink I finally got it that the washing process shrinks my clothes

It sucks, because as a result it's tough, hell pretty much impossible, to shop for perfect fit, especially when it comes to cotton.

I do. I'm 6'5 and between L and XL, but I often opt for XL for length and some room for shrinkage. The downside is that width may become a problem as I'm not fan of the baggy/loose fit, so I'll try to find slim fit items.

I'm buying the majority of my clothing at H&M.
I never shopped there before, but now that I work there I realize that their clothes aren't that bad.
Plus good price and even cheaper with my staff discount so yas.

It depends honestly, I wouldn't buy my jeans at H&M. But there are some things at Zara that are legit the same quality & design as H&M just with a higher price.
