Perhaps because if they release the album on August 26 as planned it will indeed tank and she will actually be done.

As I said before B9 would determine if she was going to be here to stay and continue her legacy as a legend or if she was just going to be a nostalgic act.

I actually am not bothered by the video except it being boring and uninspiring but even I know that releasing an album on August 26th after this reception, no boost, the streaming and radio play has peaked would mean that RCA and her team want to end her career.

The only option is if they push it back to September after the Iheart concerts and release the 2nd single which needs to be an undeniable smash (uptempo hit).

I'm not here for the drama over the video but I'm also not here for her ending her career when she literally could make Glory turn around right.

No need for a VMAs.

Do the little Carpool karaoke - hopefully this will keep the momentum going for preorder

Let the LQ version of Make me original leak

September plan interviews on talk shows and radio as well as a video release of the 2nd single and this would do wonders for the Glory album.

August 26th release already competing with barba and that other group with a huge country hit would be career suicide.

If they have a smash on their hands release that as the 2nd single and this era could turn around.

otherwise, it's a wrap and there's no way someone who barely cares about her career can endure two flop eras in a row and still go on.

if the album is great then the album is great. if anything, a good album with low sales just elevates it's cult status like it did with Blackout.

Never said sales determine a legend and the music alone won't do the talking after a messy campaign coming off of a flop album.

People already like Make me so they know she's capable but they need an undeniable hit with a good video to still know she's here.

You really don't understand how important it is for this era. This is make or break.

They can definitely turn this around if they push the album back for a 2nd single. 100% if the 2nd single is not just a good quality track like Make me and is an uptempo smash that gets people on board.

If she gets 2 flop eras in a row...it's done.

pushbacks never help save an era, all it does is give the impression that the label don't have faith in the album or artist and that the album either isn't ready or the artist/their team weren't prepared.

if they weren't prepared then they shouldn't have announced a release date. this video was obviously terrible and they knew that it was not going to be well received, unless they had no idea that 'insiders' were spreading info.

pushing it back will mean they'll have to release another single, hope radio pushes it, record a video for it, and then hope it sticks. which means we probably won't get it until October

So in a way it might work out because Eternium and I wanted a late September/October release date to coincide with the Iheart show and this would give enough time to film a 2nd single.

For instance, cancel ideas of VMAs or just go ahead and do the VMAs but with no shows from August 25-30 they could do a two day shoot for the 2nd single in time for a September album release

RCA needs to get to work and make some important decisions over the next week as to how to turn the era around.

make or break in what way? if the album flops commercially, it will come and go and all anyone will have heard from it will be Make Me (which seems to be well received)

if the album is good, maybe word of mouth will spread and give it legs. if it's bad...well lets hope it comes and goes quickly. and if is bad, maybe she should just give up.

Carly Rae's Emotions flopped commercially, but it's critical acclaim has given Carly's career an entire new lease of life, Glory could possibly do the same.

She can also book SNL, even if I know that would be asking too much and Jimmy Kimmel before iHeart and that'll definitely help her a lot.

Pushbacks can save an era and no one cares what the label feels.

It's one thing if the GP had a Pretty girls type situation but the GP actually likes Make me the song so it won't be a matter of pushing back because of a bad song but so the campaign is turned around.

I think they thought a safe video would push the song more than a racy one that would restrict the video.

Once they see the reception hasn't helped I think they have time to figure out things and keeping it at August 26 will be the worse decision to make.

I think they can secure the album for another month.

Are we aware if the album has gone out to anyone? Of course not.

Carpool and VMAs would be more for Make me than an impact on the album.

A hit single would be more promo for the album.

BAM - turned around and the pushback is a few weeks to a month.

this is only with a 2nd single smash that gets the GP invested in her as a hit maker again.
