Question. Since this is meant to be an EP do we have to do songs that flow in terms of themes etc or can we do really different songs?
That's really your prerogative. Cohesion is a strong assest but the songs themselves can't just rely on that. On the flip, if one of your songs is a dud and lacks cohesion, then you're down by a third.

Essentially this; we're not grading on cohesion specifically, but I think it would elevate everything to a higher level.

He's saying that it's not a requirement, but if done well will elevate your score. In the same way that, for example, we aren't grading you on how well your songs do at telling a story - but if they tell a good story well, it'll raise your score. See?

Pretty sure nobody would mind if you did that as long as you outlined which song was which part of the challenge
