I get why people want term limits for Congress (it definitely would help weed out corruption and would constantly keep fresh faces in sight) but I don't really think it would be as beneficial as proposed. Sure, there really is no reason for 80+ year olds to still be running for office. That's just irresponsible. But a lot of the inner workings and prep that the House and Senate operate on take a lot of time to adjust to. With a limit, you'd be stopping knowledgeable committees from forming and giving the Congressmen time to forge connections.

I think term limits would be good because it would allow fresh ideas to come in a blossom. It could even be politicians from other elected offices. But, I would like to see rotations, personally. However, the terms and the limits on said terms could pay respect to your point, though.

Maybe not a strict term limit but something more flexible would probably be ideal.

Standardised tests are good because they are objective. They give universities an idea of your capabilities and whether you should or should not be accepted.The problem with the standardised tests right now is that they are too easy, and Ivy League universities have to choose based on extracurriculars instead of academics because there's no distinction between all the highest grades.

Fully free tuition would not make degrees worthless. It hasn't in Europe. It will give everyone equal chances and equal opportunities (American Dream?). It will not cause employers to find other things to measure on, as a college grade still means you've learnt what you have to have learnt. It might lead to a reduction in pay though for the high-paying jobs, because there's more people who have had a good education (reduces income inequality).

Private universities can still have their different methods/etc while being a part of the government, as long as freedom of education is guaranteed. Intervening in university education is not helpful and even the ones further to th left know this. The fact that it's morally not justifiable that education costs money still stands.

On privatised prisons: I think it's not good to privatise prisons, as it creates interests in the world of justice. There should not be an organisation who has an interest in more people being sent to prison. It would create a big lobby for more time in prison, while it is well-known that more time in prison isn't constructive. It doesn't lead to prevention. The prison times are already extremely long in the US, and a lobbying organisation to extend this would have negative effects.
Also, you can't guarantee basic human rights in a private organisation, as you would in a public organisation. Private organisations are driven by profit, and thus would cut in spending to the point where basic human rights for those in jail are not guaranteed anymore, morally wrong.
