Ewha Womens University's students singing Into the New World in the middle of their protest against the school's latest controversial policy.
Truly a song that never dies, a song that will continue to inspire generation after generation. It's kind of disheartening to realize that if Into the New World had been released in the 80s, it would have been banned by the government for its protest-induced lyrics and vibe, inspiring people to break free and follow their dreams. I can't believe I'm stanning for legends. So proud.
I just read into the protest and it seems like the students are protesting over Ewha University's plan to offer high-quality education to people who started working right after graduating from high school. The plan was to offer opportunities for those who couldn’t afford a college education but felt the need to get one later in their careers.
This isn't something to be proud about. It's about the elitist student's wanting to keep their educational opportunities from those who couldn't afford it before. Just because they sing SNSD songs doesn't mean their movement is right.
