Wezzer's album this year and The Vaccines from last year are really melodic indie rock.
In fact they are kinda more pop-rock with a slight indie edge.
The Vaccines have a song, Dream Lover, which exactly sounds like a cut from AM.

What's up with everyone praising Weezer's last album? Haven't heard it in full (and don't plan to), but the singles were just tragic so I really doubt the rest was somehow listenable
