There is a reason why Single Ladies, Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable etc are still referenced 10+ years later and none of Janet's are. Beyonce has been named the most influential musician almost every single year since her debut. She has more awards than Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and Celine Dion. There's a reason why Beyonce is able to sell out stadiums 19 years in the game. Her career just eclipses that of Janet Jackson.
You always assume I'm including DC  Bey has sold 130 million records SOLO and 60 million with DC. If I were to group them together she'd be at 180-190 million but obviously that's not fair. Either way Beyonce wins.
Janet's career lasted from 1986-2004. That's 18 years and I'm being very generous lol. Bey is already at her 19th year of career success. Having a #1 album literally means nothing anymore when people like Drake can sell 18k and manage to be #1

To say that Janet hasn't influenced the majority of female (and many male) popstars of this generation is idiotic. Janet is indirectly responsible for the creation of YouTube and was the most-searched person in internet history after the Superbowl so her impact is often underrated.
Irreplaceable is forgotten and had no impact on anything other than a one-liner catchphrase so let's not.
Several dates on the Unbreakable World Tour (30+ years into her career) were sold out so I fail to see how Beyonce selling out tour dates is impressive.
Janet has sold over 140 million records tho...
Debating about how long Janet's career has lasted is irrelevant when she achieved more in her first 10 years than Bey has in her entire 19 years (only 13 of which have been as a solo artist).
The Hive is the DEFINITION of biting the hands that fed you. None of what Beyonce is doing would be possible without the women that came before her.
