Read, please. Similar doesn't mean the same. It means just that - SIMILAR

Being #1 for 9 weeks and being #2 for seven weeks or whatever it was - those are indisputably similar chart runs. It means in the end to an average American Bad Romance is just as big a hit as Tik Tok. There is absolutely no difference. They are equally popular to Americans, because of those similar chart runs.

To the general public, who doesn't care about charts, both songs were all over the radio, and sold a lot on iTunes. Tik Tok did sell more, but Bad Romance had the more memorable, and more watched, video.

Poor Rock That Body has underperformed terribly in Australia and full out flopped in Canada
Looks like the only place where it's going to find success is the UK but we'll have to see. If it only spends one week in the top ten that'll be just as disappointing as its Australian chart run.

If a song is number 2 for a very long time, and another song is number 1 for a very long time, then they have similar chart runs! Easy!
