The President acts as a figurehead for their party and our government, and affects the direction these decisions lean. The President directly affects any and all federal legislation regarding these topics. The President has the authority to utilize executive actions that can affect these things, and to appoint Supreme Court judges who will have a permanent and lasting affect on minorities and movements.

I think it's a bigger issue than you're making it out to be.

But if you've done your research you know this to be factually untrue and misleading. You also know, assuming again that you have done your research, that the concept of securing borders doesn't exclude viable paths to citizenship (something Hillary supports and Trump doesn't). You also know that Trump's restrictive policies and "wall" are not the same as a fence and serves a different and more nationalist purpose from said fence. With that in mind, I don't follow your logic.

Of course Bernie supporters are the loudest in the arena. But wait for the polls and voting day. Same concept as the primaries. Hillary had her base turnout despite 1K rallies against Bernie's 10K+

Why? Statistical trends indicate that Hillary should be up by a solid three in polling this time next week thanks to the typical post-convention boost. Trump's RCP lead is just 0.2 and one poll conducted Saturday and Sunday has Hillary up by five.
