It's the banner.  It won't get the song very far, but it helps. Could have, however, kept it inside the Top 5 for far longer than 3 (was it all that?) days had it been up there from Day 1.

Of course there are always the usual suspects - some Gaga fans, a group of Beyoncé fans (it always gets me how she's so "superior" yet they always feel the need to keep repeating Britney is below her, btw) and then the Katy fans because well, they got really mad Britney proved to catch more interest than her when it was just about the songs and not promo, but funny and ironic thing is, the Aguilera stans are the ones doing THE MOST talking about charts. 
And even funnier: one of them quoted me mentioning Feel This Moment, Say Something and Moves Like Jagger as an example of how relevant she has been in the last 10 years.

 Why is Shazam Important?
Shazam shows the interest in a song and if people are enjoying it enough to find out more about it. Radio programmers across the country use Shazam data to help build their station's playlists.
Songs that enter the Top 10 on Shazam go on to be Top 10 radio, streaming, and/or Billboard hits 75% of the time.
A couple things to note: Songs typically peak on Shazam in the 5-8 week range because the app is about music discovery more than consumption. Typically, those same songs peak on other charts (radio, streaming, etc) somewhere in the 9-20 week range. Artists who are among the most well known commodities tend to peak a little quicker on Shazam.
So really, the Shazam Charts are just a good predictor/indicator of hit music. Seeing a song high on Shazam means that people are actively tagging the song because they like it. That tells radio DJs they should keep spinning the song. You can also stream the song from the app after you tag it and it provides you with links to iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube videos, etc.
Make sure to Shazam "Make Me" from your smartphone or tablet at least once!

There's certain markets where the only way the song will rise is a video, so we'll just have to wait for that. However, I think it's a good sign that it's shaping up nicely in the US and is rising in Australia and NZ, which have proven to embrace global hits first. I'm not saying it will be one, but this song is gonna take another 2 months to take off in some places (if it does) and that's ok

That's my thinking too.
Even just by looking at the Shazam city by city charts, I've noticed the song is doing the same kind if thing in the US. It's charting high in certain markets and slowly spreading around the country.
For example, on the first day I started tracking, the song was nowhere to be found in most of the Los Angeles, CA area. It was starting to chart in some places around the country (Minnesota being one of the early adopters.) On day 2 it started charting in more areas and hit number 1 in places like Nashville, TN. On day 3 it was starting to rise in even more places like Dallas, Chicago, Detroit and started showing up around California. Now today, its spreading out. Tennessee now has multiple markets with Make Me at #1 (instead of just Nashville,) it's all over the Los Angeles Area, and it's Top 5 in nearly every market I'm tracking in Minnesota.
That's why I get the feeling this is all just the beginning and the song is going to continue to grow over the next couple months. It seems like it's spreading organically and the interest is obviously there or people wouldn't take the time to tag the song on Shazam. And radio seems to have no problem honoring requests tweeted at them meaning they are likely getting quite a few for Make Me.
Maybe it won't be a hit in the long run, and that's fine, but to me, the arrow seems to be pointing up.
