I really don't want to contribute to this but by this logic, Applause was top 5, Dope went top 10, DWUW was top 20, C2C won a Grammy and sold 1m+ copies, and TIHTY was nominated for an Oscar. And yet y'all still try to come for Gaga.

All stans should know by now that you shouldn't jump the gun when a song is first released. And that goes for both sides. It reminds me of how Britney fans made all those anti-Rise GIFs of "Britney slaying Katy" only for Katy to pass Britney 12 hours later.

If 'Rise' is already a hit despite not debuting on the official charts yet, remember that the next time you try to come for another popstar when they go #1 on iTunes and their stans say the song's a hit.

Not bad for Rise, test running a new sound like a new jet engine, checking out how much she can sell pure based on her name, no radio deal, no Spotify,... Once she collected the data on how the charts work in 100+ countries, she is ready to take to the skies.

I do believe with Rise she was testing the new sound to se it it works with the GP. Her label will probably chose the "risky, mature sound" if Rise succeeds for her lead single. If it flops, they probably have some Roar-type of song ready to be released and can take some little weeks to rework what she already have to make it fit the sound they would like to achieve.

^^ I think it's nothing more than just a Olympic promo single. If she wanted to test the waters she would've sent out something drastically different to her last album's sound.
