I don't think that's anything special. If a forum mostly discusses X then it's logical to open up a specific thread about Y since it's discussed less frequently.
That's not really a fair comparison. This site is specifically geared toward fans of female pop music. Sites like RYM are supposed to be all-encompassing and yet it's clear they heavily favor specific types of artists.

The point is that when a forum has a dominant demographic then things that are beloved in that demographic are gonna be the ones that are praised and discussed the most.
Doesn't mean that they consider female musicians to be aliens or something like that.

They're typically more interesting, especially from a stanning point of view.
The thing is that nowadays male artists are mostly bland (Sam Smith, Charlie Puth, Shawn...) while male artists in the 70s/80s weren't afraid of polarizing their audiences (Prince, Bowie, Mick Jagger...)

Sam Smith's solo work is pretty bland, but I liked his collabs with Disclosure and Naughty Boy. And on the other hand, we have artists like The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, and of course my boy Yeezy.
