I'm going to repeat this again.

It is THE FORUM software that's incapable of keeping up with traffic.

No amount of new servers will solve this problem.

Until the upgrade, ya'll have to just sit tight.

Frankly I'm tired of the 522 myself. (And no way is it worse than the OC; most of you never lived that era).

Why should members especially paying members have to sit "tight" though? i mean the fact that no one was able to go on forum when Make Me... came out

That's just them breaks. I hate this 522 as much as ya'll do but suggesting "new servers" or "ban the guests" doesn't help anyone. Athens is only one person and it's an extremely time consuming process.

Paying members actually got to view the new site first, but lots of coding still needs to be fixed before it can be officially released.

The mods, the admin, and the original creator of this site have NO control over the server itself. NONE. Like Troye said, even purchasing a new one would do NOTHING. ATRL has too much traffic (too many people) on it at a time.

Do you not think the admin wants to get the update out? He has a life, this isn't how he makes money or anything. It's just a fun site he's running.

It could literally be the most popular forum though, Think about how many accounts have been denied access since like 2011? Maybe a little effort would turn it into a profitable job.

Chill. The fact that he even has time to code the new software is time consuming.

And what good does that even do if there's nothing to update ya'll on anyway?

If they can't make sure there are enough servers to match the amount of traffic they get, then they're just incompetent. And they're crooked, because they're trading being able to browse the site on mobile for ads/pop ups that ruin the experience and send you to the App Store. I've been here for 7 years and ATRL is not what it once was, it's sad.

Athens once said that it has to do with vBulletin. It's an outdated forum that is over a decade old. You'll get problems with it no matter what servers you buy.

Crooked? For what? Actually generating revenue to pay for this site? Ya'll think that it is free to run this site when it's the opposite. The owner once said three years ago that it costs him anywhere in the 3-4 digit range to pay for the lawyer to protect him from lawsuits in addition to paying for the server etc. (Wanna know why he needs a lawyer? Bingo; ya'll post illegal links to downloads for one thing).

It's only Athens who can ban them. He can't just run on every single time there's an event though, but normally they're banned during the VMAs (not sure about grammys). Even if they are banned though, they can still visit the site (even though it'll take them to a login page and that has some traffic)
