There numbers are a bit disappointing for Katy, cause afaik Rihanna did similar numbers with "Work", without this much promo, Olympia hype and with a less friendly song.

But they're still decent

RISE is a ballad, so I dont' get people saying it flopped.

And Britney is going to have longevity, given the song is #2 on iTunes still...That is MORE than some of her peers have seen this year, like for example, Christina Aguilera's CHANGE song that got released recently and has a video....

Rise is not a ballad, it's a quintessential midtempo song. And there have been plenty of midtempo hits lately, and even some ballad hits. So the fact that it's slower than uptempo is not an excuse.

Nobody is claiming Katy is the biggest pop star. JT and Bey are basically legends that have been in the industry for so long (and still going strong). It's not a fair comparison. And Good For You was over a year ago, 13 months to be exact.

So they had bigger debuts because they've been in the industry longer? Because they are quite a number of examples I can use to prove how wrong that logic is
