The flip side to that is I asked my aunt if she knew who sang the song but she didn't know who Rihanna was even after I told her (I'm sure the young people in Africa do tho).
But she did know Beyoncé.
I find it hilarious. She's still a bigger WW brand and presence than Rihanna. But Rihanna's music is more prevalent. I don't kno which is better.
All I know is that it's easier to release mindless dance music that everyone can enjoy than up your cultural profile. So I'd say the Beyst is better poised. She just needs to quit with this social consciousness and ~artsy mess.
