she just debut the music video that's why, and also have all the itunes banners. it's not big deal
She was at the Today Show promoting Rise. We're not used to it because Britney doesn't promote, but promotion can do wonders for a song's performance. It won't hold it long if it's not a good track, though, I don't think Rise is as good as Katy's past singles. Let's just stay positive and keep promoting Make Me...! I never expected it to even go #1, let alone this fast, so good things can keep coming!
Turn on your radio stations. Make Me playing in 4 minutes. Then tweet, text, e-mail, or call their studio and let them know you think it's a bomb song.
Not only does she intro the song before they play it "Are you ready world?," she also has an outro letting people know if they like what they heard they can listen again in an hour.
EDIT: Every time I hear the song I get re-hyped! If you download or already have the iheartradio app, you can thumbs up Make Me when they play it as well. If you don't live in the US, you can pick any live Top 40 station to listen to. They'll all be playing it again in around 45 minutes (as long as they are owned by ClearChannel, like those on the iheartradio app.)
EDIT 2: You can tell they changed the title to "Make Me" after she recorded the radio promo. Both during the intro and the outro, they cut out Britney saying the song title and replace it with a radio-sounding-guy saying "Make Me."
Make Me went #1 really fast, remember WB and PG didn't even go #1... The public LIKED it! Regardless of how well katy is performing, I hated that Katy dropped a single at the same time, but we gotta deal with it...
They have been going back and forth on iTunes, but actually since MM dropped to #2, "Britney" (album) appeared on the chart so
Oh ok cool. So they've been up and down since the BBMAs and album discounts around that time, I'm guessing, then? (With a few of them now re-entering the Top 1500 because of Make Me?)
Awesome that "Britney" is on there now too!
EDIT: Britney on the radio again in a couple minutes!

They went down as soon as BBMA hype died with GH:MP as exception. It's always hanging around ~#1000 position. The rest re-entered today when MM was released.
That is sort of my thoughts too. If the song is as good as we think it is to the larger music audience, it should be able to support itself and maybe reclaim the top spot.
This isn't @you, Kerty, but just to explain myself. I want Britney to do well and I keep an eye on the charts for that reason. But at the end of the day, I could care less how it sells if I enjoy the song. I know the single thread exists for tracking updates, so if anyone would prefer me not to post them in here, that's definitely cool.
Please keep posting updates. I get triggered by the haters in the single thread
Katy's gap will only increase to Britney's... But as this is a promotional song to the Olympics, it will likely die soon. However, Britney's song overall tend to do good in the first weeks and then drop... Let's see if her team will do something right, considering they've managed to hold a leak (I was impressed they finally could), I'm expecting something good. Moreover, GP seems to have liked it, I mean, shot to #1 in 2 hours, stayed at #1 for almost 12 hours with constant increases... Her last two leads (including PG here) didn't even go #1.
And post things here, please... The hating on the single thread because of the katy perry release is too much!

Oh, so GH went up around 200 spots since she released Make Me? Awesome!

Make Me is already the number 5 most requested song based on iheartradio data according to the daily countdown with Ryan Seacrest! Make sure everyone is thumbing it up!

Make Me is still seeing increases even though Rise passed it (dark green according to Kworb.) That's definitely a good thing. Anyone remember how long it was before Work Bitch or Pretty Girls saw their first red update?
