Police are trained you only shoot someone intending to kill them. There's no aiming for minor body parts, that's for the movies.

Also it may not be "official" teaching but it's basically understood as the officer you're better off killing the person than wounding them. Easier to get away with it/deal with the aftermath of a dead person than a wounded one.

Did you even read the article? He aimed the gun at the police.

The shooting happened on Cullen near Ward around 12:40am. Officers say they saw a man with a revolver standing in the road. There were two officers in one vehicle and they asked the man to put the revolver down. Police say a witness also asked him to drop the weapon. Officers say instead of dropping the gun, the man raised his weapon pointing it in the air. He then lowered it and pointed it at the two officers.

Apparently I'm insensitive for asking why we post articles of all black men getting shot instead of only articles when they are wrongfully killed.

Yall are stating this based off of an officer's account of what happened and an apparent video that has not even been released. Considering how often cops lie in these situations, I'm more inclined to give the victim the benefit of the doubt. I stand by my statement and I hope the man rests in peace.

And let's not act brand new like a bunch of yall didn't RUSH in here to discredit the black equality movement yet again. I'm disheartened at the lack of compassion people have in this country. It happens every time there's a race thread on ATRL, regardless of the details. And it's generally the same people. You're not slick.

Uh, actually eye witness statements/testimonies usually are evidence. That's why they are used in a court of law. I expect the body cam footage to show events that correlate with what the witnesses have said occurred.
