Releasesd as the third single off band's debut album, Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) became their highest-charting track at the time, debuting at #12 on the UK's charts. It spent a total of seven weeks in top 20 and seventeen in top 75. It also debuted at #42 on Irish chart, peaking one place higher. In addition, Sugababes covered it twice, and your favourite indie website Pitchfork stanned for it. As a completely objective, unbiased listener/observer, I'd say the second achievement is more notable but whatever.
Quite frankly, it's amazing and I'm surprised I didn't give it a 10. It's probably one of the first big choruses Florence has served us since then, however, as opposed to the e.g. the tracks on Ceremonials it owes its sublimity not to the production but the overdubbed with many harmonies vocals, which make it feel as if it was sung by choir rather than one person. I like the contrast between the melody and the lyrics – if we're not paying attention to the latter, it may seem like one of the most positive songs on Lungs, since it's pretty rhythmic and up-tempo, however, lyrically it deals with Florence being afraid of the consequences of becoming famous. I especially like the lamb/knife metaphor, simple but effective.
Wonderlust: aight
Lucas32: With some of her best lyrics and most addictive melodies this has always been a standout in her discography in my eyes.
jpow: One of her best!
ahauntingnearu: better than DDAO, the harmonies are godly, the chorus is amazing, great lyrics.
Superpower: Cute chorus. Don't care much for the rest.
