One Dance already went #1 for 7 weeks in Canada.

I'm SICK of Drake hogging the #1 spot because of streams. If streams weren't counted, his album would be much lower.

Thanks simm! I lucked out this week I think. 7 Sins really saved me.
As for Needed Me making the year-end top 10... I just can't see it happening. Top 20 for sure though. LY, Sorry, Hello, OD, Work, SO, Panda & 7Y will be close to impossible to catch up to. I can't really see it topping CSTF, MH, DLMD, ITAPII, CT, WFH or TIWYCF either. Some of those could prove to have weak legs, but I kinda doubt it.
There's bound to be a few more songs that reach those levels by the end of the year as well. If it could top songs like MM&I & PT, that would be really impressive and should guarantee it a top 20 spot.
People have thrown around a lot of comparisons to Needed Me, but to me its performance has been most similar to WAUN's. And I'm expecting a similar rank on the year-end list.

I somehow put 7 Years downloads at 3k instead of 30k in my excel sheet and didn't realize it.
Would have had it at #15 and the rest better too without that strange mistake

It's went #1 in as much countries as Uptown Funk!.
Without a music video, and 1 performance to date.

Interesting how iTunes right now is dominated by songs lacking in streaming. Wonder if this will become a new trend

Queen Katy will dominate both

One Dance is the most uneventful #1 song I've witnessed.
So boring even though it's an okay song.
Even worse than See You Again.

Oh no! That sucks. I wish I had said something then. When you first posted predictions, I was gonna ask why you put 7 Years so low because I was worried I might have missed something. But I was busy at the time and forgot.
When I saw another prediction with it lower as well I was convinced I missed something, lol. I'll let you know if I ever spot a big discrepancy like that again. Just in case of errors like that.

"One Dance" certainly doesn't feel like "Uptown Funk."

es"far bigger"? Which song are we referring to here? "Uptown Funk" was a streaming, radio AND sales monster, which finished out #1 for the year. "One Dance" is only a streaming monster, a decent/good seller and big radio hit that keeps rotating with "Can't Stop This Feeling". Its future is bleak as to whether or not it finishes at #1 for the year. I would say "Uptown Funk" is bigger as of now, all things considered.

If One Dance secures at least 14 weeks @ #1, then regardless of its sales it'll be considered more successful in my eyes. Otherwise, HELL NO

Good thing you edited your post because I was going to ask if it doesn't manage 14 weeks, then what are your thoughts on it then? lol
But really, "One Dance" is mainly getting multiple weeks at #1 because how important streaming is now and how heavy streaming is weighed now.
But "Uptown Funk" was just an all-around monster (not just "successful") in all components.

Why do you guys keep saying "______ Only is doing so well because streaming though" as if that's some type of discredit in 2016.
In case you all forgot, mid year top sellers compared to previous years.
2012: | 2014: | 2016: | 5,501,000 (Somebody That I Used to Know) | 5,633,000 (Happy) | 1,947,000 (My House) | 5,087,000 (We Are Young) | 4,004,000 (Dark Horse) | 1,831,000 (7 Years) | 4,064,000 (Call Me Maybe) | 3,854,000 (All of Me) | 1,653,000 (Love Yourself) | 3,324,000 (Stronger) | 3,657,000 (Talk Dirty) | 1,610,000 (Work) | 3,158,000 (Starships) | 2,854,000 (Let It Go) | 1,586,000 (Stressed Out) | 3,075,000 (Payphone) | 2,573,000 (Turn Down for What) | 1,442,000 (One Dance) | 2,892,000 (Glad You Came) | 2,533,000 (Fancy) | 1,400,000 (Can't Stop the Feeling!) | 2,885,000 (What Makes You Beautiful) | 2,321,000 (Pompeii) | 1,288,000 (PILLOWTALK) | 2,790,000 (Wild Ones) | 2,263,000 (The Man) | 1,273,000 (I Took a Pill in Ibiza) | 2,599,000 (Boyfriend) | 2,189,000 (Timber) | 1,211,000 (Panda) |
Every single #1 hit this year was a #1 hit because of streaming, bar CSTF.
I'm not arguing OD is as big as UF! because it's obviously not, but the generalization that a song was a bigger hit because it sold well..when songs sold well, and a song is an inferior hit for streaming well...when songs now stream well doesn't make any sense. Whether or not you think streaming is as impressive as sales is another story, but a song being the #1 streamed song of the year and approaching the most streamed ever on Spotify in a time where streaming matters for songs is very well a smash and impressive.
