I'm sorry, but I look down on non-Japanese speakers who watch subs! Seems like a distracting, overly exhaustive waste of time and it doesn't allow me to actually immerse myself in what I'm watching.

I prefer dubs. Sub is fine but it's not like it's some extra effort to read stuff (but I pretty much have to grow up reading subtitles and captions anyway so I'm used to it.)

It really does come down to how one starts. I got my start really early, age three or so watching Tenchi Muyo! and Sailor Moon on Toonami. I'm just in the dub crowd for that reason.

At least you didn't have to get used to Usagi's overly annoying voice. I'd take Serena's voice anytime.
I find it so funny watching Dragon Ball Z, you don't know exactly what the **** they're talking about, and yet all you hear is them screaming on top of their lungs, and a whole bunch of flashing power ups and firebombs.

This describes me to a T. Like, I can handle sub just fine, but I prefer dub because then I can just focus on the action and the artwork instead.

Meh I guess it's something I never think about. I'd always request captions on literally everything, even movie theaters. But I know how much people are annoyed with words on a screen.

Plus, the reuse of some who are popular in the American side of the industry is kind of fun, it's cute to recognize a voice from an anime you love. I wouldn't be able to do that with Japanese at all.
