Let's say y'all controlled the singles campaigns of any three Madonna albums of your choice. What would you have done?

Um well, Hard Candy could use a revamp in the singles department.
-Give It 2 me shoud have been the first single let's be real, it's the best song on the album and with a bit of radio payola and the withholding of the single it would have reached the top3.
-4 Minutes as the second single would have reached the top 20 at least because white America loves JT and everything related to it because they are stupid. At this point Madonna is being accused of being desperate for jumping in trends so she should be an unapologetic bitch and release Beat Goes On as a third single, which I think would have done well (the song has sold a sizeable amount in the US and it's Plat in Brazil)
-Miles Away as a last single to end the era, early 2009, pushed specially in Europe to bring big crowds for her second leg of the Divorce Settlement Money Lost tour et voila.
MDNE
I Don't Give A as a lead single, has Nicki Minaj which is sadly hip, it would do well with some promo. GMAYL should have been relegated as a promo single and a high budget video for I Don't Give A with Madonna turning her housewife life into a dominatrix life would have slayed.
MASTERPIECE BITCH MASTERPIECE. That song was doing so well on it's own, it had single potential, Madonna ballad potential, an emotional sad video a la You'll See would have sold the song to all these saggy middle aged frigid hags who hate her career post 2000.
Girl Gone WIld as a third single because no one wants those middle aged hags in her tours and we need to scare those away somehow.
Music
The title track as a lead single it's FLAWLESS, she did the song well so I respect her. Impressive Instant should have been the second single, Madonna was so respected then and bringing out this messy spacey track and making it a hit would have been slayful. Contnuing with the whole experimenting thing, Don't Tell Me as a third single would have been great in my eyes, it doesn't deserve to be second single material even though I LOVE the song. Paradise as the last single, I just feel this song REALLY deserved to be a single, a promotional performance here and there after finishing the tour to give the album it's last breath before her career croaks in the US thanks to her political extraness.

This effort...
American Life
- Hollywood. Lbr it's the only "catchy" song on the album and the only reason it flopped when released was because of the damage done by Soy Latte.
- Nothing Fails would've been a cute way to soften ha image after the very extra Hollywood video & live performances. She could've even done it at the VMAs with a school choir and Xtina.
- Love Profusion just so we get the video.
- American Life with a messy video, since obviously the track is not going to sell well in any situation with that sound & those lyrics it should've been last.

So it's basically The Party's Right Here with a different cover.
Pretty soon the bootleggers will give us all the tour audios before she does. There's one of the Japan The Girlie Show World Tour show coming out next week.

In 2006 I was prepping to go to Confessions, and my English teacher was going to the concert as well - another teacher bought tickets for both of them and I ran into them in the library some weeks later. This teacher goes, "the show won't be better than Drowned World, that was her best show" and in a post-Truth or Dare haze I said, "no, Blond Ambition is her best show," and he said, "Blond Ambition is cheesy."
If I knew then what I know now, I'd have argued the merits of The Girlie Show instead.

I think if Hard Candy came out 1-2 years earlier it would have smashed harder. She jumped on the JT/Timbaland train when they were on their way out. Like wasn't Timbaland's plagiarism crap was already out in the open for a while when 4 Minutes/HC dropped?

Yes they were both DONE in 2008.
Dated Candy and MDNA were way behind their respective trends.

When I saw her in 2006, she did four dates at the United Center and played to 52,000 people.
She did two dates for Sticky and played to 31,000 people.
Two dates for MDNA and 28,000 people.
One date for RH and 14,000 people.
I wonder if there's concern that people are beginning to "age out" of buying tickets to her shows or if she's losing her draw appeal She's never played just one date here before, aside from Soldier Field on Who's That Girl. And The Girlie was obviously a special situation.

Why didn't she do stadiums for Rebel Heart?
She could have outgrossed MDNA!
Madge, what is going on?

Her return of interest was so good especially adding in the Asian leg. Her average gross was $2 million a night from ALL arenas, who's else's fave is doing that factoring in ONLY their arena shows. There's a lot that makes the Rebel Heart Tour so much more successful but people only look at the figures, dates and such.
But it's true that people think Madonna has 'over saturated' herself with some places that you know she's going to go to like Toronto, New York etc but that's always her biggest shows so it's obligatory. I think the routing of the 2008 and onwards was smart. She's going to a lot of places she's never hit in 30 years. Speaking of her Canadian market it was only Toronto and/or Montreal but not she's expanded out West and for the MDNA Tour she did Ottawa which is the middle of Montreal and Toronto and also the Capital here so there's lots of money to be made.

She would NOT have filled more than one stadium here, sadly. Hell they left gaps between the big Australian cities so she could do more shows but they didn't end up adding any because the demand was juuust enough for 2.

She would have filled Tokyo Dome and stadium in Osaka easily trust me. There are a lot of fans living in Nagoya and Osaka fuming about she only had shows in Tokyo. The demand for Madonno is high in Japan

I'm trying to get into Madonna's discography (maybe not the too old stuff before the 00s but the recent one :s). I already love Hung Up and Jump but haven't listened to the rest of COAD. Is this the best album to begin with ?
