Hold Up is fine the way it is. When the beat changes as she comes down the runway...it's life. I didn't even realize it was CD until she started singing it.

6 Inch would work so well with Partition if she just gave it a try.

I think I've finally concluded BEYONCÉ is better than Lemonade.

Lemonade is a masterpiece but for me personally, I listened to self titled literally every day on the bus too and from college and didn't get bored. Each song has over 500 plays at least. Idk if Lemonade will live up to the same amount of replay value. I already generally skip DHY, Sandcastles and Forward unless I'm in the mood to listen to the full thing.

I was halfway expecting that to happen because of the little Countdown sample, but I was slain by the Hold Up/Countdown transition.

So I kinda understand why people didn't really like the performance that much, and some choreo aspects of FWT in general. When the dancers were going ham during the chorus Beyonce kinda just stood there or moved sharply. 2011 RTW Beyonce would have been going ham as well and singing live. I guess she's been too good to us so we've become spoiled. But nonetheless I loved the performance.

I pretty much always skip Forward, Sandcastles and Daddy Lessons. Love Drought ain't much either.

That's just when I'm cherry picking the album though, those songs aren't bad, I'm just usually not in the mood for them.

I agree with you though, I prefer Self-Titled to Lemonade.

Self-Titled is better produced, it's euphoric, it doesn't flow as nicely as Lemonade but I prefer the songs.

Lemonade is very stripped and brutalist, I feel like Bey only did the minimum on some songs, but she had more control where the highs wanted to be and where the lows were supposed to be.
