Ariana has proved that she can get solo hits or on songs where she is the sole vocalist.
The Rihanna comparisons aren't really fair either, their music is very different as far as pop artists go and Ariana debuted eight years after Rihanna.
You guys just need to look for the "Universal" profiles on Spotify (they have profiles for each country + some global ones) & you will see them having multiple playlists with just a couple hundred or thousand subscribers & then have one random playlist (the ones they pay Spotify to sponsor) with 300k subscribers
It's ok though, just lets not act as if payola isn't a thing.
Lol it's real, Billboard did an article last Summer with people in the industry saying you can have songs added to a playlist if you pay a specified amount of money.

And it's super effective, at least to boost Spotify streams it is.
I used to follow this cute "Throwback" playlist on Spotify with thousands & thousands of subscribers when all of a sudden they started adding pretty recent songs (obviously they were getting checks from someone)
Hm, it doesn't seem likely, since it was better than all those promo tracks and Focus. I'm still disappointed in Princess but at least the lead single is good. Probably less than the My Everything singles (other than Break Free) but still better than anything released afterword.
I still haven't listened to Dangerous Woman. Would someone like me, who doesn't listen to Ariana, but surprisingly enjoyed her debut album (My Everything) enjoy her new material?

Probably not.
My Everything was her sophomore album (which I liked too) & I didn't like Dangerous Donut much aside of 2 or 3 songs.

Edit: d at the response above I think DW is a lot edgier sonically.

Lol Ariana is Mariah 2.0. She knows what works for her, and continues to use that formula. If you liked one album from her there's no reason you shouldn't like another, especially if they were released virtually one year apart.
It's not like Ariana's albums are remotely different.
Into You is one of the weakest on the album. Even Nick's Under You > Into You. So I expect it to catch on
What do you think about Sometimes? I think it's the best song Ariana has recorded so far and the fact that it's a Deluxe only track in Europe, Australia and New Zealand makes it even better, it's such a lovely summer song and it would be amazing to blast it in a car cruising down the motorway. What if she releases it as a single in the US and Canada, I'd die, that would be amazing.
