Sheila Weller's Girls Like Us inspired my idea for a new rate. I want to do one that involves Carole King, Carly Simon, and Joni Mitchell. Participants would have to rate each artist's most well-known album. In this case, the albums would be Tapestry, No Secrets, and Blue.

The low interest in the Missy singles rate is kind of sad because I think Hard Core v. Ill Na Na v. Supa Dupa Fly would kind of be great for a '90s female rap debuts rate.

An artist who has only had one Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. I've written up some rules for submissions, though:

- The artist must have one (and ONLY one) Top 40 hit.
- The artist's one hit must be at least 10 years old. This is because it's not unusual to see so-called "one hit wonders" unexpectedly come back a few years later with another hit or two (case in point: Neon Trees, Mike Posner, the Chainsmokers).
- The artist/group cannot be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This is so we avoid getting artists like Jimi Hendrix, who technically only had one hit, but who is remembered for much more than that.
- Other than that, use your best judgment. Don't submit artists who you know are remembered for more than just one song.

Oh, no, the participants wouldn't have to rate every song on the list

Each participant would submit a top 20 list of their personal favorites, and then I'd count down the 50 songs that appear the most frequently.

All of the songs on the list would be eligible for the rate, but participants can include any song they can find that fits the criteria.
