Aren't theme songs are almost always pushed in some capacity.

But placement of the song in the movie will also be important to its success. It seems to be doing way better than Towards the sun on iTunes and at least we know a video is definitely gonna be released.

A SNL performance of LOTB(or KIB why not ?) and sledgehammer would do wonders for her. Even going on Kimmel and performing sledgehammer there would be good for her. I know she's beyond doing promo but for Star Trek I doubt she just won't perform it live. As long as she continues laying off the weed as she's done lately and resting her voice she could definitely sing it live. She just needs to rehearse and take care of her voice.

Speaking of discounts I hope her team does one for her MIA festival in September.

It would help the album cause there's no point in releasing a new single off it until the fall.

Lil rant: I hate this new age of journalism where bloggers get their info from Stan Twitter accounts.

There's accounts that purposely troll and gets 200+ RTs. & suddenly they're credible ...It's just so annoying to see bloggers cite them in articles regarding Rih

Right. I died at Dailymail posting the pics with the curtain still up. Not even opening acts were out yet.

Okay the shows could be selling way better but for anyone to act like she's getting up there in front of only 10 ppl is just Where was this obsession when Rih was the youngest to sell out Stade de France, Millennium, Johannesburg, etc

I am trying to think of places Star Trek could force her to perform even Dreamworks couldn't get her on a late-night show. SNL won't be back until September. All the morning show concerts have been announced. VMAs are the next big award show and that's a bit late for movie promotion. Private events would work well for campaigning but not for making money.

I am still hoping for TIWYCF acoustic/Sex With Me at the VMAs, or Desperado with slight choreo if she wants to do an album track. I think either would be exciting

She hardly has any breaks on the European leg so if she does do a late night show it'd have to be sometime in August

I don't see Rihanna pushing the song like at all. If the studio wanted to push the song they would have a radio deal and have a little ad saying "Here's Rihanna newest song from the Star Trek movie coming out on..." or something of the sort.

If anything this song will get a push from people seeing the movie and hearing it.
